FOTD: Pretty in Pink

On my last visit to Etude House (I haven't been there since the first week of January), I picked up the duo fiber brush which I had reserved late December. Of course, I stayed a wee bit longer and looked around for other things that I can throw into my cutesy shopping basket. Aside from the duo fiber brush, I also threw in a Romantic Beauty Brush, two bottles of Petite Darling nail polishes, two bottles of Dear Darling nail polishes, and a Petite Darling Lipstick. After paying for everything, I rushed home to nurse my feverish beloved and to look into my cutesy shopping bag to admire the items that I got only to find out that I have the wrong lipstick shade! I originally wanted to get the shade BR302, but since I had so much difficulty looking for the shade in the counter, I had an SA assist me. When I was handed a tube of lipstick, I threw it into my basket without even checking if it was in the shade that I wanted. So when I opened the tube at home, I was appalled by a shocking pick hue! I felt frustrated and disappointed and immediately wanted to go back and have it exchanged for what I had asked for. But time wasn't on my side as I still had to go to work. Besides, I was feeling a bit lazy to go back to return the item. So I kept it and thought of playing and experimenting with it when I get the time to. Luckily, the perfect time came.

Since office clothes can be a bit boring (especially for someone as young as I am), I always spice up my outfits by accessorizing and by wearing makeup. Though I normally match my eye makeup with my outfits, I thought of doing something different for a meeting at work. So while getting ready, I looked into my lipstick stash and searched for a nice shade to compliment and brighten my usual black-and-white combo. That's when I picked up the cute little pick tube and a light bulb lit up.

Since the shade is a shocking pink, I opted for something light to balance out the entire look and to let my puckers be the center of attention. Who knew I'd have use for something this scandalous?

I wasn't really planning on curling my hair that day but I did coz I had enough time to kill.

And of course, some eye shots.

As a way of showing love to my Too Faced Glamour Revolution Palette, here's another FOTD featuring Label Whore, my favorite eyeshadow from the palette. I actually wore this look to our meeting on Tuesday, but didn't get to post it coz I haven't been feeling well for the past week or so. FOTD: Jewel Pop

Eversince I got my grubby hands on Urban Decay's Book of Shadows Volume II, I've never bothered to play with the eyeshadows in my Too Faced Glamour Revolution Palette. The Chocolate Soleil Bronzing Powder and La Vie En Rose Brightening Blush included in the Too Faced Palette are my go-to bronzer and blush. But the eyeshadows, ehhhh... not so much. They're gorgeous, yes, but I haven't had that much use out of them (except perhaps for Milk Chocolate, but only for a short period). And so because I felt I was being unfair to my Too Faced Glamour Revolution Palette, I decided to play with the eyeshadows for my FOTD today. Oh, if you're wondering why I called this look Jewel Pop, it's because of that jewel toned eyeliner from Maybelline Eye Studio which I put on my waterline for a pop of color. Bright colors just add a different touch to my overall look; hence, the green liner.

Lashes uncurled. I'm often too lazy to curl my lashes, coz ugh... I'm just lazy.

On Eyes (All are Too Faced unless mentioned)

Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Revlon Illuminance Cream Eyeshadows in Pink Petals (used the second from the left. it's a rosey cream shadow with gold shimmer to it)

On Face

I also felt like playing with my camera's settings today as you probably can tell.

And that's about it! I'll be working tomorrow too, so Happy holidays to everyone!

Too Faced Glamour Revolution

As promised, here's my review on the Too Faced Glamour Revolution Kit.

I'm stoked and head over heels in love with my
Too Faced Glamour Revolution Kit from the artsy-fartsy packaging down to everything inside it. Look how gorgeous the front cover is! This makeup kit is love! Okay, let me breathe first. I'm getting too excited.

This amazing kit opens up like a book with a pull-out mirror on one side, while on the other side are 3 lipglosses, 1blush, 1bronzer, and three pocket cards that give you clever ways to use the eyeshadows housed in this kit.

The nine gorgeously pigmented eyeshadows and the mini eyeshadow insurance are contained in the slide drawer on the side of the book. Whoever designed this kit is a genius!

There goes the slide drawer!

Here are swatches of the nine eyeshadows. See how gorgeous they are? They're so pigmented even without a base! Can you imagine how beautiful they'd look on your lids when foiled? Oh, double the gorgeousness!
From L-R (I tried my best to describe them for you)
Neptune - shimmery teal
Party Girl - grape purple with blue glitter
Dirt Bag - glittery deep brown
(perfect for the crease)
Glamazon - shimmery pinkish-purple (very pretty!)
London Calling - taupey-gold with loads of chunky glitter (not too fond of this one. its glitters are way too chunky)
Label Whore - reddish brown with fine green glitter (my favorite of all!)
Boy Toy - shimmery pale rose pink
(another pretty shade)
George & Weezie - shimmery milky light gold (this one's lovely. I can see myself using this a lot)
Milk Chocolate - matte chocolate brown

Here's the blush and bronzer. The blush is a very pretty bubble gum pink with fine shimmer. It shows up well on most skin tones I've tried it on. Definitely a winner!

The bronzer is perfect as an overall color, but not so much as a contour shade unless you're fair skinned.

I don't have swatches of the lip glosses since they really don't have much color in them. I don't think there's any difference when compared to each other. All three glosses look pretty much the same when swatched on my arm and on my lips. I'm honestly not too fond of these. They smell delicious, but I find them a little too tacky. Maybe it's just me. Others who bought this same kit didn't complain much about these glosses except for the fact that they're not pigmented. Maybe my standards are too high? Good thing they last a pretty decent amount of time on my lips. I you want more color, you can just simply top your lipstick with any of the three glosses.

All in all, I think this is a good all-in-one kit to have and to carry around in your luggage. I won't recommend you to tote this with you everyday since the book itself is rather huge and bulky, but it's ideal for traveling. It houses everything you'll ever need on a trip. If there's anything else that you need that this kit can't provide
(you can't have everything, ya know), that would be a complete brush set and you're good to go. With this kit, every penny is money well spent.

If there's anything else about this kit that you want me to write about, tell me in the comments section.

Have a great week ladies!

Latest Haul

This has got to be one of my most exciting purchases ever. Well, okay, I always get giddy when I buy something. But... you get the feeling.

I've always wanted to try the Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Pencils but always ended up putting off buying them. I was even more gaga to buy these pencils when Urban Decay came up with the VIP and Velvet Rope sets. But since I wasn't big on makeup then, I put purchasing these babies on hold for while. When I saw that 24/7 Super Stash a month ago, I didn't think twice on placing an order. Think about nine 24/7 pencil liners for $36, not bad eh? Glad to finally have these amazing pencils in my collection. Now I'm lemming for MUFE Aqua Eyes.

The main reason I got Too Faced's Glamour Revolution is because of the Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzing Powder that I've been meaning to try. As most of you know, I'm obsessed in looking tanned. My beloved is, too. I enjoy faking a tan coz it makes me look so much healthier and radiant. I feel like a completely different person when I'm tanned. I'm not sure if it's just me, but I feel a whole lot sexier with a good tan. I have to be honest though, I hate being out in the sun. I love going to the beach but I always make sure that I'm bathed in sunscreen before exposing myself to the harmful rays of the sun. I just don't want to get sunburned. Anyway, instead of purchasing just the bronzer which already retails for $28, I thought, why don't I just add a few more bucks and get this set that has everything I'll ever need sans mascara. It has a mini eyeshadow primer, 9 eyeshadows, 3 lipglosses, 1blush and 1bronzer. Isn't that a good deal for $39.50? Imagine $100 worth of Too Faced products in one compact set. I sure wouldn't pass on that.

I love to accessorize. I don't always wear necklaces but I always have to be wearing earrings and rings. These were purchased at a hobbies and crafts store near my place. They're pretty inexpensive at $1.50-$2 a piece.

There goes my latest haul. I probably won't be buying anything for the next few weeks so I'll be doing mostly reviews of products I've had and used for some time but never got the chance to write about them.

What have you bought recently?
