Collective Haul + Gifts + Nails + Updates on Makeup Sale

Though rain has been pouring outside for about 4hours already, I’m glad it’s not as heavy as it was last week. No storm signal has been raised in Metro Manila yet. But even if PAGASA won’t raise any warning on Manila, be prepared for heavy rainfall, possible flood and even landslides (especially if you live in Antipolo).

Since I’m feeling very jittery about Typhoon Parma wrecking more homes and lives, I decided to look into some of my photos on my laptop and maybe write a review on something or just post some random stuff to cheer myself up and get my mind off the typhoon. I would love to write a review for all you ladies (I owe you a handful already), but since my head is giving me a tough time, I’ll just share with you some stuff that I’ve bought over the last month or so, some of the gifts that my beloved bought for me in LA (I won’t be taking pictures of everything coz I know my beloved will be very suspicious), and some nail arts that I did this week.

Milani products purchased from wackywancho on Ebay.

Earrings purchased at the Fab Finds Bazaar at Eastwood. The ring was bough at St. Francis Square. My black ring is missing :(

Shoes bought at Shoe Crazeee. Check out the heels! Love the details!

My Sephora purchase. I used the e-certificate that I won from Sassy Jadore's Summer Look Contest. I had it sent to my beloved's address in LA so it took a while before it reached me.

The samples that came with my Sephora order. My beloved chose these samples. I love Issey Miyake's L'eau D'Issey, the one in the middle. I want to buy the full sized bottle!

My beloved got me this Colorsensational Lipstick from Maybelline.

My beloved also got me this 1 1/2 Revlon Hair Curler and John Frieda Curl Perfecting Spray. He got me a hair spray from John Frieda but I didn't take a picture of it. I have yet to use all these to see if my hair would finally curl.

Some sexy shoes my beloved bought for me in LA. I'm surprised the shoes fit so perfectly!

Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Liquid Lipstick. I have another one in Top Tier Truffle which I haven't opened yet.

MAC Matte Bronzing Powder. I don't know if I've said it enough, but I love myself tanned so much that I bronze myself every single day. This is the perfect product to contour and to add a bit of color and warmth to pale skin.

My nails for the week. I did a bit of nail art early this week since I decided to call off work in consideration of our employees who were greatly affected by the flood.

My cousin's nails (excuse her hands; my cousin suffers from eczema). She got jealous when she saw my nails so I had to do hers. She wanted flowers that's why her nails look very Hawaiian.

That's about it for this post. I'll try to be a bit sneaky and take photos of the other items my beloved got for me when he was in the States.

As for the makeup sale, I'm thinking of creating a multiply account where I can post pictures and product information of all the items that I'll be selling. But if you're wondering what I have in stock, here goes: 2 Coastal Scents Warm Palettes, 2 Coastal Scents 88 Color Palettes, NYX eyeshadow palettes (Runway Collection), NYX Round Lipsticks, NYX Eyeliners, etc. If you're curious about the price, feel free to leave a comment or shoot me an email at practicalvanity@gmail.com.

See you all in my next post!

NOTW: Mistletoe Kiss + Latest Acquisition

Two posts in a day? Why not? I deserve even a couple of minutes break from a busy day, ya know.

I realized that I haven't posted my nails for the week though I've already snapped a photo of my lovely nail varnish a couple of times in the past week.

I just want to tell you all that... I have found the perfect green nail varnish! I have always wanted to try other colors on my tips and toes but I was always too chicken to wear colors other than reds, browns/bronzes and purples. Well, not anymore; thanks to Angie's nail polish blog. Angie features gorgeous shades of nail polishes from popular Asian brands such as Skin Food, The Face Shop and Elianto, and even some local ones like Caronia, Bobbie, Caress, and Ever Bilena. If you haven't dropped by her site yet, click away and feast your eyes on some of the most beautiful shades ever.

Now on to this lovely nail polish from Bobbie, a homegrown nail polish brand. Mistletoe Kiss has got to be the most outrageous shade that I've worn so far, and I am so diggin' it! This is the perfect green and the perfect Holiday nails for me. While this goes on sheer on the first coat, it goes opaque after the second.

Isn't it lovely? (I took this photo with my new phone. Neat eh?)

And here is a shot of my latest acquisition. (Sorry for the poor lighting and terrible angle; I snapped this photo a few minutes ago in my office.)

I purchased these sexy killer shoes off the shelves of People are People for half its original price after a short stop at Top Shop the other day (I got a pretty top and mini skirt from Top Shop). More pictures of me wearing these babies in my next post! Stay tuned beautiful ladies!

This or That?

Should I buy this?Or this?

I can't decide which one to buy. I want both, but since I'm not sure if these will fit me, I'm thinking of getting one pair first. If the pair fits, then I might get the other. I want the tan one, but I'm considering getting the white one to wear with my other clothes. Both are priced the same, and I'm guessing that they're as tall as the other. There's not a huge difference in terms of style either. They're both size6, and if you girls remember, my feet can fit in most shoes between 5 and 6. My Steve Madden heels are a 6, and they're half an inch bigger than my feet, though it's not that noticeable. I usually feel safe with ankle straps coz they pull my feet to the back and keep my toes from sticking out, but I'm a bit worried that these'll be a tad big for my feet. If the pair that I get doesn't fit perfectly, I have an option to sell it or wear it still. But if I buy both and they both don't fit, I most probably will be kicking myself in the ass.

What do you girls think?

Shoe Crazeee

It's official. I have a new addiction; and this time, it's shoes.

Ever since my beloved and I started shopping like crazy, I've developed this slight addiction to sexy slutty shoes. My style is both classic and classy. I go for everything simple, usually with a classic cut and a touch of class and sexiness to it. I never wear anything funky or edgy, or even sporty. It's just not me. Slutty will not describe my style either, perhaps not ever. I have no whorish looking clothes that cover barely any skin. In fact, I don't own a mini skirt and have never even owned one. It's not that I think mini skirts make some look like a hooker, hell no. It's just that I never had the guts to actually step out in a micro mini, until my beloved started encouraging me to. Now I'm on a lookout for a nice mini skirt that will deliver just the right amount of sexiness.

Onto shoes, I've expressed how much of a stiletto freak I am that I even run in them. I feel more comfortable in stilettos than in flats. In my view, stilettos are sexy and not slutty. They can perhaps border being slutty depending on the design, but normally, stilettos are very sexy and classy. Chunky heels are not my thing. They look and feel too bulky, and they make my feet look funny in them. However, as with everything, there are exceptions; and such is that hot and sexy pair from Aldo. I don't have a picture of it, but it looks almost identical to the one pictured below.

Hot isn't it? I didn't think I can wear them when I tried them at the store, and even if I could, I have no outfits to pair with it. That, however, did not discourage my beloved. He told me to walk in them and see if I could manage. He said the clothes will come after the shoes. I did as he said, but because the thought of my mother screaming in horror to see her youngest daughter wear something like those shoes (my mother is hella conservative) held me back; thus, I said, "I'll think about it." I have to say that I regret saying what I said that day. I was a centimeter close to having those shoes in my racks, but stupid me chickened out. Since then, I haven't been able to get those shoes out of mind and it's just plain torture. Many times I thought of going back to the mall to see if they still have the shoes there, but I've been trying to be a good girl in terms of my spending (I'm getting a new phone today so I should really cut back for now). I told my beloved about it today when we were walking to my building. He said he'll get the pair for me. If my memory hasn't failed me yet, the pair is selling at $87.50. Not bad eh? Considering that my Steve Madden stilettos were over a hundred bucks. Darn these shoes are too pricey. Not good for the economy. Good thing I found a site that sells all sorts of shoes at less than $62.50. Shoe Crazeee arranges a pool of order every month (I believe so), though the waiting time is a pain. If you place an order today, you'll get it 7-9weeks later. I'm not sure if that's because these shoes are from the US, but even then, I wonder why it has to take ages for the shoes to arrive.

The last day for placing an order is on the 14th of September; that's roughly 10days from now. I'm thinking of getting a few pairs from them, though I'm not quite decided yet. With the money that my beloved paid for my Steve Madden babies, we could very well get 3-4pairs from Shoe Crazeee. Crazy huh? Check their site if you don't believe me.

Here are some of the pairs I'm eyeing as of the moment. I wanna snag them all!

I have no outfit to pair these with, but I think they're plain hot.

Some classy stilettos with a modern chic twist

I love the embellishments on this one.

This one has a bit of spunk to it.

I can't tell why I like them. I just think they're pretty. Not too dressy, not too casual.

It looks so classy and clean

One word: HOTT!

I think this would look sexy on my feet. Hmmm

Just my classic stilettos :)

Aren't they all sexy? What do you think? Should I get a couple of pairs? Let me know!

Latest Acquisition

Wow! I can’t quite believe that July is over and today’s already the first of August. Not that it’s such a big deal or whatever; it’s just that I’m stunned at how quickly days pass!

I’m home right now, blogging whilst studying because I was not able to go back to the bazaar at Eastwood. Freaking rain just killed the mood. I love the rain, but not when I have to be out walking. Anyway, I’d like to share with you guys the story of how I had my hands on my latest acquisition. I’ll have its pictures posted when I’ve gotten around to taking pictures of it. I’m just too excited about it, I had to write an entry (besides, I need to have something posted in here. Haha)

Yesterday, my beloved got me a beautiful pair of sexy heels from Steve Madden. But before we found that gem, we first looked at a few good ones at Nine West. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to find something pretty for my tootsies because my feet are a bit too small for my height (I stand 5’5 short and my feet are a 5) and for US size (I can fit my feet in a 5, 5.5 or 6). We went around the mall trying to remember what store that was where we found that sexy killer shoes 6months ago, until we saw the signage of Steve Madden. “Steve Madden!” we squealed! That’s it! So we went inside the store and looked around. I saw a pair of basic pumps (I’m a pumps girl), scrutinized it and put it down upon seeing the price. Then, my beloved handed me a pair of sexy brown heels. He asked me to try it and when it fit perfectly, he asked me if I like it. I said, “I like it, it’s pretty.” “We’ll get it,” he said. I was flabbergasted! I asked him, “Are you serious?” He just said, “It’s time for a new pair of shoes.” "Thank you," was all I could say. I couldn’t believe that he would pay $127 for a pair of shoes for me, although he has gotten me stuff in the past that were more expensive than my new pair of deadly weapons. But seriously, $127 for a pair of shoes? Sheesh! Anyway, I’m thrilled because those heels look absolutely stunning although they're just simple black leather sandals. The heels measure about 4.5inches high, quite high from what I usually wear, though something I still could walk comfortably in. After that, we went to The Face Shop to get back ups of my top coat and base coat and some nail lacquers. We didn’t stay long at the mall that time as we both had to go to work. Bummer.

Today, we went to Rockwell as per my beloved’s insistence. He made me wear the new top he got me at the bazaar and my Steve Madden footsies. Yes, I had to break in my new shoes. We got a digital photography book for him as well as a nice casual top from Zara. We were looking for some clothes for me but I was not crazy for any of the ones that my beloved suggested. Though we didn’t do much shopping, both the beloved and I were thrilled to have had the time to be together since our jobs have been robbing us off of some “us time.” I wish we could do this more often. Anyway, my beloved is asleep now, and I have to get my nose buried in my books. I hope you guys had an amazing weekend as well.

See you all in my next post!
